NATIONAL DOCTORS DAY/Physicians Day | 2022

National Doctors Day is actually the day of appreciation of the physicians . It is celebrated to recognize the contributions of Docotors to the Human lives. The National docotors day may vary from state to state or nation to nation depending on the event of commemoration used to mark the day. Various of the states celebrates this day is a holiday. Althoug it is supposed to be celebrated by patients in and benefactors of the healthcare industry. It is usually celebrated by Healthcare orginizations. Healthcare staff may arrange a luch for doctors to present the physicians with tokens of recognition.

National Doctors Day in United States

In united sates the national Doctor day on which the service of doctors of the united sates is recognized annually. This idea came from the Eudora Brown Almond, which is the wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, and this date chosen was the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery. March 30 1842 in Georgia,Jefferson, Dr. Crawford long used ether to anesthetize a patient, Jame venable, and painlessly excised a tumer from his neck successfully. On March 30, 1958, a Resolution Commemorating Doctors’ Day was adopted by the United States House of Representatives in the parliament. In 1990, legislation was passed in the House and Senate to establish a national Doctor’s Day. finally  on October 30, 1990, President George Bush signed S.J. RES. #366 (which became Public Law 101-473) designating March 30th as “National Doctor’s Day.”

National Doctors Day in India

In India the National Doctors Day is celebrated on 1st of July 1 every year all over India to appreciate the physicians and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962,at the aged of 80 years.Dr Bidhan Roy was honored with one of the highest country’s civilian award, entitle Bharat Ratna, on February 4, 1961. The main purpose of the Doctors’ Day is an attempt to emphasize on the value of doctors in our lives and also to offer them our respects and also to appreciate their services to the humanity . India is one of the most well know state around the world which has brilliant doctors and has shown remarkable improvements in the medical field. On 1st July India pays a perfect tribute to all the doctors who have made relentless efforts towards achieving this goal irrespective of the odds.

History of National doctors day

The first National Doctors Day was observed  on March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia. By Eudora Brown Almond,which was the  wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided to set aside a day to honor the physicians. This first observance included was actually  the mailing greeting cards and placing flowers on graves of deceased doctors. Then On March 30, 1958, a Resolution Commemorating Doctors’ Day was adopted by the United States House of Representatives in the parliament. In 1990, legislation was introduced in the House and Senate to establish a national Doctor’s Day in the country. After the overwhelming approval by the United States Senate and the House of Representatives of the parliament ,finally  on October 30, 1990, President George Bush signed S.J. RES. #366 (which became Public Law 101-473) designating March 30th as “National Doctor’s Day.”

Well it depends upon the thinking and understanding of everyone that how to appreciate the doctors and how to Thank our physicians  .
